Welcome to our section on Lumbering in Michigan. Michigan's rich history in this industry was responsible for many successes and failures and the products of this history helped rebuild Chicago and supply the western United States with lumber. While Michigan's automotive legacy is what most people remember today, it was the White Pine that first brought jobs and riches to the State. Today, there are fewer and fewer signs of this once great industry, and we have gathered a few items here to help tell the story.
